Adriana Lima made Forbes list of Highest Paid supermodels, ranking at number 4, earning a reported $8 million. She’s known for being a Victoria’s Secret Model and a Maybelline spokesmodel,
Background Information:
Adriana was born in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil on June 12, 1981. She is an eclectic mix of French, Portuguese, Native American and Caribbean heritage. She has those amazing stell blue eyes and dark brown hair.
How she got started in modeling:
Adriana was only 13 years old when she was discovered at a mall. She placed second in the Ford Supermodel of the World Contest and that’s when she became well known. She signed with Elite Model Management at the age of 16 and moved to New York City.
She appeared in Vogue and Marie Claire and walked the runway for Vera Wang, Christian Lacroix, Emanuel Ungaro, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Ralph Lauren and Valentino.
She is probably best known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret model and has opened the Fashion Show in 2003, 2007, and 2008.
Movies and Television:
Adriana’s first acting role was in The Follow (2001) playing the wife, along with Mickey Rourke and Forest Whitaker. She also appeared with other Victoria’s Secret Angels (2007) in How I Met Your Mother.
Her biggest TV role is when she played herself in Ugly Betty.
Personal Life:
Adriana is best known for the fact that she said, “Sex is for after marriage” and that she was a virgin and would stay one until she was married. She is a devout Catholic and had even considered becoming a nun. Adriana can often be seen backstage with her Bible.
In 2009 she married Serbian basketball player Marko Jarić in Jacksonhole, Wyoming. It’s being reported that they are expecting their first child sometime in the winter.
